The Vermont Senior Games is proud to announce that we have reached agreements to host three events in the upcoming months – golf, tennis, and pickleball. While we have reluctantly determined that our other tournaments could not go on as planned, we are confident that we can stage these events safely and ensure players quality competitions.
Registration is now open for each of these events, the links to which can be found by accessing the “schedules” tab at the top of this page. Please note that there are some restrictions regarding player eligibility due to the COVID-19 situation. Interested athletes can access full descriptions of these events in the sports’ pages, but here is a brief summary:
- Golf: Monday August 10 at the Neshobe Club in Brandon, VT. Registration closes on Monday August 3.
- Tennis: Saturday August 22 and Sunday August 23 at the Burlington Tennis Club. Registration closes on Friday August 14.
- Pickleball: Friday September 11 (Singles); Saturday September 12 (Mixed Doubles); and Sunday September 13 (Women’s and Men’s Doubles). This event will be held at the Davis Park Courts in Shelburne, VT. Davis Park has six outdoor courts. Pickleball registration is capped at a limited number of players per event, so while the registration deadline is Friday September 4, athletes are urged to sign up early to reserve a spot.
We at the Vermont Senior Games sincerely appreciate the ongoing contact, understanding, and support of our athletes during this challenging year. We hope to see as many of you as possible at these events but suggest that individuals DO NOT register if he or she feels uncomfortable participating! Each athlete needs to make his or her own decision based upon their level of personal comfort, but the best advice is to err on the side of caution – if you are apprehensive, do not participate.
