The Vermont Senior Games 2020 Golf Championships will be held on Monday August 10 at the Neshobe Golf Club in Brandon, Vermont.
2020 is a qualifying year for the 2021 National Senior Games in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. All first-place finishers and athletes meeting the NSGA Minimum Performance Standards at this tournament will qualify for the 2021 National Senior Games. This is a gross score / ‘stroke play’ tournament – GHIN handicaps do not apply. NSGA Minimum Performance Standards may be found in the NSGA rule book at https://nsga.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/2021NSGFINALRulebook03042020.pdf. Please consult page 26. Medals will be awarded to the first, second, and third place finishers in each age group. NSGA and USGA rules will apply.
The $60 registration fee includes golf and use of a cart. All participants must register individually and include the name of your group leader if applicable. If you are a single, pairings will be assigned based on age brackets. Advance registration is required by Monday August 3rd – there will be no on-site registration. Out-of-state entries will be considered on a case-by-case basis according to the State of Vermont’s current guidelines. At present, individuals from a county with less than 400 active COVID-19 cases / million residents are eligible for quarantine-free travel, which includes golf.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines, we will not be doing a ‘shotgun start’ this year – participants will be contacted with tee times the week before the event. Please check in 30 minutes prior to tee time. Individuals will also be forwarded an additional waiver regarding the most updated COVID-19 protocols and their health status, that must be signed and brought to check in. Participants will also have their temperature checked before teeing off.
At present Neshobe is offering lunch and limited warm-up options – players will be updated regarding these factors in the week prior to the event.
